About My Practice

Integrative Music Psychotherapy & Counseling, LLC
Where music, depth & healing come together.
I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE!
Maybe...

-
You’re holding tension in your body that won’t let go.
-
Your mind keeps looping, even when you’re trying to rest.
-
You’re longing for something deeper—a sense of connection, expression, or meaning you can’t quite reach.
This isn’t about fixing you. It’s about finding your way back to yourself—gently, creatively, and with support.
Sometimes words can only take us so far. Sometimes healing needs a different way in.
What if therapy could be something you experience, not just something you talk about?
IMAGINE BEING CARED FOR BY MUSIC—LETTING THE SOUNDS CARRY YOU TO PLACES YOU NEED TO GO, TO EMOTIONS YOU NEED TO FEEL. MUSIC CAN OFFER US NURTURANCE, ENCOURAGEMENT, SUPPORT, GUIDANCE AND SO MUCH MORE...
Imagine therapy that feels creative, immersive, and fully embodied—a space where your inner wisdom and creativity can take the lead.

This Is The Heart of My Work
TO PROVIDE A SAFE, IMMERSIVE, AND DEEPLY TRANSFORMATIVE SPACE WHERE YOU CAN EXPLORE YOUR INNER WORLD THROUGH MUSIC, IMAGERY, AND MEANINGFUL REFLECTION.
I bring together clinical skill, creativity, and deep listening to support people in healing through music and meaningful inner work. Whether you're navigating trauma, searching for clarity, or simply longing for a more embodied experience of therapy, you're in the right place.

Welcome!
MY NAME IS LEAH WHITMIRE AND I AM A LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR (LMHC) AND BOARD-CERTIFIED MUSIC THERAPIST (MT-BC) WITH SPECIALIZED TRAINING IN GUIDED IMAGERY AND MUSIC (GIM), TRAUMA RESILIENCE MODEL (TRM), AND DEPTH-ORIENTED PSYCHOTHERAPY.
My work bridges clinical therapy, psychoanalytic principles, and music-based consciousness exploration to support deep healing and transformation. I’ve trained extensively in Guided Imagery and Music (GIM), a research-based approach that uses music to access deep emotional states and subconscious imagery.
I incorporate somatic and nervous system-informed approaches, drawing on my training in Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM). My approach draws from depth psychology, exploring unconscious patterns, relationship dynamics, and symbolic meaning. I also bring experience in psychedelic integration, dreamwork, and altered states, grounded in a lifelong passion for consciousness studies and transpersonal healing.
What makes my practice unique is that I place music, imagery, and deep listening at the heart of the therapy—not as an add-on, but as the foundation.
At Integrative Music Psychotherapy, I am passionate about the power of music to facilitate emotional expression, deepen self-awareness, and support healing.
MUSIC-CENTERED THERAPY IS ABOUT ALLOWING YOURSELF TO EXPERIENCE THE MUSIC
IN A WAY THAT SUPPORTS TRANSFORMATION AND CHANGE.
Because each person’s healing journey is unique, I trust in your inner healing intelligence and follow your process with care. Together, we build trust in each other and in the music. I see my role as a guide—helping you navigate your inner world through music, imagery, and deep listening. My approach is grounded in ethics, clinical care, and creative process, bringing compassion and integrity to every session.
You Are Not Alone.
HEALING UNFOLDS IN RELATIONSHIPS, AND I DEEPLY VALUE THE GENUINE CONNECTION I BUILD WITH EACH CLIENT.
Whether we’re working with music psychotherapy, trauma resiliency, or expanded states of consciousness, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and free to explore your experience in a way that feels authentic to you. Your care is my priority.
My path to this work has always been guided by a deep love of music, a curiosity about the psyche, and a reverence for the mysteries of consciousness. As a musician, dreamer, and somatic explorer, I came to understand that music is a gateway to emotional depth, expanded awareness, and transformation. This understanding led me to the field of music therapy, where I discovered how sound and imagery could access parts of the psyche that words alone often cannot reach and that this work could bring healing to the psyche is new and unexpected ways.

It is an honor to have the opportunity to bring music psychotherapy to people in need of healing and care. I am thankful for all the people I have with over the years, and I look forward to many more fulfilling relationships of music, healing, and care in the future.

"I created Integrative Music Psychotherapy as a space where therapy moves deeper—into the realms of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM) to support meaningful transformation."
My Approach
MY APPROACH WEAVES TOGETHER EXPERIENTIAL AND PSYCHOANALYTIC METHODS, OFFERING A PROCESS THAT IS BOTH IMMERSIVE AND REFLECTIVE, CREATIVE AND GROUNDED.
As my practice evolves, I’m continuing to deepen my training in psychedelic-assisted therapy and integration. This work feels like a natural extension of the music-based and imaginal approaches I already offer. In non-ordinary states, music becomes more than sound—it becomes a guide, shaping emotional landscapes, evoking memory and imagery, and opening pathways to insight, healing, and transformation.
